REAL TIME COLLABORATION NOW AVAILABLE FOR WEB

One of the major focuses of this release has been on developing a real time collaboration document viewer for our Web SDK. Synchronize document-related functionality, page organization and annotations to improve your workflows. PDF SDK for Web provides an out-of-the-box collaboration setup for you to attach to your application, fully supported and available in the viewer. There’s no need for additional development or configuration on your end, meaning you save time and improve productivity.

PDF PORTFOLIO SUPPORT ADDED

PDF portfolio support enables you to have more control and convenience with your documents. Arranging files within folders, sort files by categories including add/delete/hide and customize along with searching in a portfolio to streamline your workflows. You can also add non-PDF files and read them using your application (where possible) as well as print all PDFs in a portfolio which is a very popular use case amongst our customers.

HTML TO PDF SUPPORT FOR LINUX (WINDOWS AND MAC TOO!)

PDF SDK 7.6’s powerful engine can now convert HTML to PDF for Linux with lots of features included. Here are just some of the things you can do with the HTML to PDF conversion add-on:

  • Retain the tags from HTML pages
  • Set paper size
  • Set margins
  • Rotate the document
  • Convert links
  • Set timeouts
  • Set cookie paths
  • View in single/multiple page format and much more
  • Command line calls also supported (batch conversion of HTML to PDF documents)

There’s no action needed from the user (Save as PDF, Create PDF, Convert to PDF). With Foxit PDF SDK you have the option of doing it all in the background and choosing the automatic event to trigger conversions.

The PDF text generated is also fully interactive and editable. That means you can redact your PDF’s text automatically (signatures, sensitive form field info such as SSN and credit card information), add links to other pages, PDFs and websites, perform full-text search and obtain whatever key information you require. On the security side, SHA-256 encrypts your converted HTML PDFs and makes them available on your server with password protection.

Transform your signed and submitted web-based forms into perfectly rendered PDFs in seconds without changing formatting and visual aspects.

NEW FORM FIELDS SUPPORT

PDF forms are more important than ever before and our team have continued to focus on improving our offering in this space. We’ve added additional form field support for the following:

  • Push button
  • CheckBox
  • Radio
  • ComboBox
  • ListBox
  • Image
  • Run form recognition
  • Form assistant

These new fields give you more control over your documents to streamline your form filling and editing as well as any data collection activities.

We’ve updated the documentation of the main developer guides to include newly added functionality as well as the updated JavaScript that we support, plus enhanced JavaScript instructions. View our updated documentation here.

Beyond this, a number of bugs have also been fixed to ensure that our PDF SDK is the most secure on the market.
